You will not believe this one.. This one is amazing! The spartan 3 FPGA board from Xilinx is for beginners in Field Programmable Gate Arrays. I have been sharing this board with a friend of mine last quarter as we were working together in the laboratory. I am absolutely amazed by what this little board can do! It has 200,000 gates (enough for beginners to mess with), 50 Mhz crystal oscillator clock, 2 blocks of 256K*16 SRAMs. Another thing that I like out of this board is that it has ports such as RS232 Serial, VGA, PS/2, Parallel Ports. This gives the flexibility to interface with other hardwares.. I have successfully design several modules such digital clock + alarm, keyboard interface, monitor interface, printer interface, FIFO, UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver and Transmitter) using RS232, several casino game modules, wheel controllers, and others ..
I could not help it and order one for myself..

My data storage space is currently at about 80% of usage. Therefore, the need for an additional storage drive. I have just added an additional 250 GB. This addition gives me a TB of storage space. I could see that a TB would no longer be sufficient in time to come as files just got piled up really fast…

A brand new LCD arrived today! I finally replaced my old CRT with a brand new LCD. I am impressed by the quality of this LCD. I spent some time trying to configure the display options and it turns out excellent. I am glad that I have replaced my old cathode ray tube display to an awesome liquid crystal display. The thin design looks great. It gives a lot of physical space on my desk. I could not be happier

The spring break is here for me! Technically it is not yet spring break here at Los Angeles. After a long winter quarter this is a chance for me to take a vacation off my college life and my daily work. During the break, I would be staying in LA indefinitely. There is no plan for a long road trip out of state. I am in need of a good rest. A couple of days should be plenty for me to keep things back to normal state :p

I am currently pursuing my B.S. in engineering at California State University Polytechnic Pomona. I am emphasizing in computer systems and have taken other upper level classes related to control systems, communications as well as power electronics. My current senior project research is an Autonomous Navigation System, a Nasa PAIR Grant Project sponsored by JPL. This project is carried out in Pomona with faculty members as our advisors.
