Implemented ADC DAC 2 MSPS on Virtex II Pro FPGA. This is a 10 times higher in sampling rate compare to the previous post ADC DAC. The sampling rate is 2 MSPS and can go up to 4 MSPS.

So by using System Generator and a verilog blackbox I implemented an FIR high-pass filter and the result is very clean. high_pass_filter_scope_captures

Just got this microchip microcontroller sdk today. It’s the 18 series. I can’t wait to start playing with it.

I have recently join a research project group whom are working on antenna angle of arrival estimation. I believe the research project has been in its 4th year and I am currently learning on all methods or approaches to estimate the angle of arrival of the desired signals. This is something that I am interested in but it is not going to be my thesis. I am working on something related to Xilinx FPGA for my thesis.

I am starting to work on my master project/thesis now. I am feeling energetic and cannot wait to get things to work! I do have a topic in mind but may change as I progress.

I was testing on this ADC DAC chipsets at the Lab. Analog sent two each with next day delivery for free. Otherwise those can run to about 200 bucks. Kudos to Analog.

After all that has been done … this is what you got… just a piece of paper…
I personally learned a lot in this project. It was a great accomplishment for us! We presented our one year span of research, testing and implementation to a group of audience from NASA/JPL, the engineering industry, facutly members and parents.

I have completed my senior team project and I am proud of the accomplishment. My team project is to design a robotic rover that is capable of autonomous navigation. I have a lot of fun working on this project with the rest of the team members. The picture above is our NASA PAIR Grant robotic rover sponsored by NASA.

I am proud to announce some progress in my group project. Recently, we have tested out RS232 communications between embedded controller to prototype board and all works great.. I am happy with the results and moving forward. I have also wrap up the final coding of the servo pan/tilt verilog codes.
