Look at this tiny chip. It is a RF to IF downconverter before demodulator. Today’s chips are getting smaller and smaller. It has a build in adjustable LNA, mixer, filter. I did not get the FM demodulator since I am planning to use this chip to implement an FM receiver on software side. This FM Software Define Radio will be implemented on Virtex II FPGA!… It will be fun to see it working.

I have been considering to get an iPhone. No, I was not the first hundred people who waited in line to buy this highly talked about gadget. Half a million of it sold over the weekend which I think is a big success for Apple Inc. I would wait for a couple more days before getting one…. I heard that this phone does not have all the features you would expect in a phone, such as the MMS feature, the ability to mass delete e-mails, timestamps for each SMS received and a few others, syncing with outlook across the bluetooth network (which is one of the important things I needed in a phone)…. This phone also is not equipped with the proper hardware for the faster 3G network, instead it uses the slower EDGE network. I have yet to verify these myself. The camera is not the best camera phone with respect to picture quality. Other than those this is a great phone with a sleek look and a nice user interface. Other than that, it is a great phone. The user experience is the most important. It uses the multi-touch technology which is cool!. Expect more products in the future that uses multi-touch technology. I am getting an iPhone too!
